    What is the IBA?

    The International Business Association of Southern California is a branch of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce whose mission is the promotion of international business and trade throughout Southern California.

    The IBA organizes lunches, conferences, seminars, receptions and meetings to serve as a catalyst in the overall international business development of the region Advocacy, business referrals and provision of resource information are important membership benefits.

    1. The IBA, formed in 1975 is one f the largest committees of the Chamber with a membership of over 200.

    2. The The IBA has annual dues of $85, in addition to the company’s Chamber dues.

    3. The IBA has its own board of directors with about 20 members serving.

    4. The IBA President serves on the Chamber board.

    5. The IBA Board meetings are held the first Friday of each month at 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. at the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce office in the World Trade Center building.

    6. We have monthly luncheons and mixers several times a year. We are dark in June July and August. Luncheons are typically held the third Tuesday of each month at different locations.

    7. Each May IBA participates in World Trade Week. World Trade Week is a program started by the LA Chamber in 1926 to celebrate world trade in the southern California region. Since then, the program has grown from one week and now actually spans the whole month. Through the generous donations of our sponsors, the IBA awards scholarships at a luncheon to high school, city college and university students. Thanks in large part to the Port of Long Beach scholarships reach about $200,000 each year.
